Busi Wagi - Cordon Savanne Trail

This tour is full of adventure and challenges. You will drive through several obstacles with the 4 × 4 vehicle and will discover beautiful places where almost no one ever comes. You will spend the night in a hammock as we like to call it going 'back to basic'. Whether you’re young or old, male or female, due to the different aspects of the program, this tour is suitable for anyone who wants to discover Suriname in an adventurous way.

Day 1:

At 8 am you will be picked up from your accommodation. Just outside the busy traffic of Surinames you get to know the 4 × 4 vehicles, your travel companions and our guide. The basic skills for off-road driving and safety instructions are explained to you so that you become familiar with the adventure that awaits you.

After a short break you will set off with your travel companions and our guide. We head towards the Jodensavanne.

In the afternoon you will find yourself in the savanna with the vehicle. In the savanna you will get the opportunity to try out all aspects of off-road driving. With large puddles, mud baths, hills and deep potholes, you and your travel companions take various obstacles and devise solutions for challenges that nature poses to you.

At the end of the day, our guide will help you set up camp, after that you get to enjoy a well-deserved evening meal and prepare for an overnight stay in a hammock in the middle of the savannah.

Day 2:

The next day, after a hearty breakfast, you return to the adventure where you will drive through the savanna trail and a trail through a forest and creek. The Cordonpad, which partly crosses this trail, is a military rider path from the slavery time. The Cordon path runs between the savanna and the jungle and was seen as the border of freedom.

By enjoying the beautiful nature, the exciting adventure and the delicious meals you will not soon forget this trip. After having defied all the challenges, we return to the civilization where you are back at your accommodation at about 17: 00h.

Approximate kilometers: 160 km on unpaved roads and 50 km on paved roads

- Toiletries (much needed) - Good bound sandals / footwear

- Valid (international) driving license

- Camera (waterproof case is recommended)

- Prior to the tour, you can load / transfer the contents of your bag in a 20 liter watertight box.
